*I am a trauma-informed therapist. This means I recognize that the experience of trauma can create a sense of feeling unsafe. I work with many marginalized people who feel un-safe on a regular basis because sadly, it is true. Being trauma-informed recognizes that leaving one's body oftentimes feels like the only way to survive and depending on the experience it could leave one feeling very powerless and debilitated. Everyone's experience of this is different and incredibly valid. It's important to meet people where they are and gently guide them to a place where they feel safer in their bodies and can sense into their own wholeness over time.
